THE SOCIETY NAME
The Society will be known as the "Akademi Kedoktoran Keluarga Malaysia' with its acronym "AKKM" in Bahasa Malaysia and as ‘The Academy of Family Physicians of Malaysia’ with its acronym “AFPM” in English.
Formerly known as the College of General Practitioners of Malaysia.
The official address is at Room 6, 5th Floor, MMA House, 124, Jalan Pahang, 53000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Motto of the Academy is : “Dengan Tatangan Ilmi”

The Emblem of the Academy is as in the illustration below :
The shield is of red rose the top and purple at the bottom with a central band in gold. In the central band are three stylized hibiscus flowers in red. Across the top of the shield is a representation of the family in gold and at the bottom of the shield is an open book in gold.
The crest on a wreath silver, red and purple is a Malaysian tiger standing on its hind legs striped and in gold, holding a staff of Aesculapius in natural colour.
