QIP Introduction
Quality Improvement Program (QIP) is part of the training and formative assessment in the Advanced Training in Family Medicine (ATFM) program. Periodic workplace-based formative assessment is now an important aspect in medical training as it enables the Practice Assessor to assess the trainee in the actual workplace with real patients. It is useful to identify gaps and weaknesses for feedback and rectification. Hence the main objectives of the Quality Improvement Program (QIP) are for formative assessment, training and feedback using case-based discussion and precepting of students’ consultation during the Practice Visit.
