Share Your Research, Inspire Innovation, and Advance Primary Care
In line with the conference theme, ‘The Heart of Healing: Strengthening Fundamentals in Primary Care,’ the Annual Scientific Conference 2027 (ASC 2027) invites researchers, family physicians, healthcare and allied health professionals, postgraduate trainees, and medical students to submit abstracts that advance family medicine and primary healthcare.
Submissions are welcomed in the following categories:

Community Engagement
The conference provides a platform to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and showcase work that strengthens primary care. All accepted abstracts will be displayed and judged in poster format. Selected abstracts from the Original Research/Review and Innovation categories will also be invited for oral presentation.

The following awards will be presented:

Best Oral Presentation – Original Research/Review: 3 awards

Best Oral Presentation – Innovation: 3 awards

Best Poster – Original Research/Review and Innovation: 2 awards

Best Poster – Case Report: 3 awards

Best Poster – Community Engagement: 3 awards

Young Investigator Award: 1 award, open to presenters aged below 40 years across all abstract categories
Poster awards will be judged based solely on the displayed posters; no poster presentation is required.

Abstract Submission Guide
Prospective authors should read the submission requirements carefully. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject any abstract that does not comply with these guidelines and to make the final decision regarding abstract acceptance.

General Submission Requirements
These requirements apply to all abstract categories:

Abstracts must be written in English and must not exceed 300 words.

Authors must provide their personal details. The full names of all authors must be written in upper and lower case.

The submitted work must be original and must not have been published elsewhere. Abstracts previously presented at another conference may be considered, provided that the name of the conference is declared during submission.

Where applicable, ethical, institutional, regulatory, or community approval must have been obtained.

Two reviewers will assess each abstract independently.
-
The presenting author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the abstract before submission.
-
No changes may be made to the abstract after it has been accepted.

Authors will be notified regarding abstract acceptance via email by 15 March 2027.

The presenting author must register, pay the conference fee by 01 April 2027, and attend the conference.
-
Failure to register and pay by the deadline will disqualify the abstract from the competition and publication.

All accepted abstracts will be published in Malaysian Family Physician, a peer-reviewed journal indexed in Web of Science (ESCI), PubMed Central, ProQuest, Scopus, DOAJ, EMCare, Open J-Gate, MyAIS, WPRIM, and Google Scholar.

All accepted abstracts must be displayed as A0 portrait-format posters. Poster judging will be based on the displayed poster only; no poster presentation is required.

Abstract Structure
1. Abstracts must follow this structured format:

Conclusion
2. Studies must have obtained approval from the relevant ethics committee or regulatory body, where applicable.
3. Up to 50 original/review abstracts will be accepted for poster display and judging. Of these, up to five abstracts will be selected for oral presentation and will be eligible for the Best Oral Presentation - Original Research/Review awards.

2. The abstract must describe an original innovation relevant to family medicine or primary care. Innovations may include, but are not limited to:

Digital health solutions and artificial intelligence applications

Medical devices

Innovative service-delivery models

Educational innovations
-
Quality-improvement initiatives
-
Community-based innovations
-
Other novel approaches that improve patient care or healthcare delivery
3. Where applicable, approval must have been obtained from the relevant ethics committee, institution, or regulatory body.
4. Up to 15 innovation abstracts will be accepted for poster display and judging. Of these, up to five abstracts will be selected for oral presentation and will be eligible for the Best Oral Presentation – Innovation awards.

2. Written informed consent must be obtained from the patient for the presentation and publication of the case, where applicable.
3. Up to 20 case report abstracts will be accepted for poster display and judging.
