Dear AFPM members,

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَ حْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

It is with great pleasure that I wish to announce that DYMM Yang DiPertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan , Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, has graciously accepted to be the Royal Patron of the Academy of Family Physicians of Malaysia .

On the 20th January 2020 , several members of EXCO , namely President-Elect Dr Wee Eng Chye , Honorary Secretary Dr S. Kaviyarasan , Honorary Treasurer Dr Aishah Md Zain and I , were granted a royal audience with His Royal Highness at the Istana Hinggap in Seremban. With the kind assistance of our Honorary Fellow , Prof Dato Dr Hanafiah Harunarashid , we had sought the consideration of His Royal Highness to become our Patron ; upon which he will give due consideration.

On Thursday , 5th March 2020,  accompanied by Censor-in-Chief Dr Anis Ezdiana Abdul Aziz, we were granted a second audience. In the discussion that followed, His Royal Highness showed a deep enthusiasm and interest on Family Medicine and AFPM's role in training Family Physicians , as well as AFPM's activities on the national and international front.

We are extremely delighted upon Tuanku's acceptance .

His Royal Highness will also preside our Annual Convocation on the 19th April this year at Sheraton Hotel Petaling Jaya. 
To all graduands , I hope you will take this opportunity to attend this historic occasion .
