CALL FOR ABSTRACT

To recognise excellence and innovation in family medicine, the AFPM Annual Scientific Conference 2026 will present awards for outstanding oral and poster presentations. These awards celebrate the commitment of researchers and clinicians who contribute to advancing primary care through impactful studies, creative approaches, and the integration of digital health technology.

The Scientific Committee invites the submission of original scientific materials that are unpublished at the time of the abstract submission deadline.
We welcome original research, review papers, case reports, and community engagement reports relevant to primary care that address the following topics:

Preconception and Reproductive Health: Approaches to optimising preconception care, family planning, and reproductive health across the care continuum.

Maternal and Child Health: Strategies to improve outcomes in antenatal, perinatal, and paediatric care.

Chronic Disease Management: Advances in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of non-communicable diseases and multimorbidity in primary care.
-
Mental Health and Well-being: Integrating mental health care and psychosocial support into everyday family practice.
-
Aging and Palliative Care: Enhancing the quality of life for older adults and patients at the end of life through coordinated and compassionate care.

Digital Health and Innovation: Exploring technology, data, and connected systems that enhance patient engagement, care coordination, and service delivery in family medicine.

Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Machine Learning: Applying AI and data-driven methods to improve clinical decision-making, predictive modelling, and quality improvement in family medicine.

Public Health and Community Medicine: Family physicians as leaders in preventive health, health promotion, and community resilience.
-
Medical Education and Training: Preparing future family physicians through innovative curricula, mentorship, and competency-based training.

Others: Any topic that contributes to redefining and strengthening family medicine across the primary care continuum.

All presenters must register and confirm the payment by April 01, 2026 (Wednesday)

A total of 40 abstracts will be accepted.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDE
The abstract submission guidelines aim to provide clear instructions for submitting abstracts. Prospective authors are encouraged to read the guidelines below carefully. The Scientific Committee and Advisory Board reserve the right to reject any abstract that does not meet the requirements or is in violation of them.
Submission of clinical research/reviews abstract:

Poster presentation should be in A0 size in portrait format

The abstract must be written in English and not more than 300 words.

The abstract must be in a structured format (Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusion).

The submitted abstract must be ORIGINAL and has not been published elsewhere. However, abstracts that have been presented in other conferences can be considered. Please indicate the conference name during submission.

Please supply personal details. Full names of all other authors must be in upper and lower case.

A panel of reviewers will assess all abstracts independently.

The scientific committee reserves the right to make the final decision about the acceptance of the abstract.

Once the abstract has been accepted, the presenting author must pay the registration fee by April 01, 2026, and attend the conference.

Failure to register and pay for the conference after the deadline will disqualify the accepted abstracts from the competition as well as publication in the journal.

The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors approve the content of the abstract before submission.

There can be no change to the content once the abstract has been accepted.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Malaysian Family Physician journal. This peer-reviewed journal is indexed by Web of Science (ESCI), PubMed Central, Proquest, Scopus, DOAJ, EMCare, Open J-Gate, MyAIS, WPRIM, and Google Scholar.

Only clinical research or review abstracts are eligible for the poster competition.

All abstracts must be submitted online via the Abstract Submission Form link by 28 February 2026 (Saturday).
